Create a new table relationship - OpenOffice.org Base

How-To: Create a new table relationship - OpenOffice.org Base
  1. To add table relationships, first click on the "Tables" icon here.
  2. Next, click on Tools.
  3. Then, on the menu that opens click on "Relationships..."
  4. You will then be asked to add the tables that you want to put relationships in. Just double-click on the table names to add them. Afterwards, click on "Close."
  5. As you can see, the three tables and their fields can be found here.
  6. Now, look for the first field that you want to establish a relation with and click and hold the left mouse button over its name.
  7. Then while holding the button, move your mouse towards the field of the other table to establish the link between the fields.
  8. Great! You should see a line representing the relationship of the fields and tables.
  9. Just repeat the process if you want to establish more relationships.
  10. Take note that you can drag the tables with their fields to clearly see the connections between them.
  11. If it gets hard to see the relationships between tables, you have the option to move the tables to see the connections clearly.
  12. Just click and hold the left mouse button over the table's name and then drag the table to a new position.
  13. Now, just release the mouse button to place the table in that location.
  14. As you can see the lines representing the relationships of the tables are still preserved and can be seen clearly. Just continue moving tables until you are satisfied.
  15. Once done, save the changes you have made by clicking here on the save button.
  16. Afterwards, just close the window by clicking on this "X" icon.
  17. Congratulations! You have learned how to create new table relationships.
