How-To: Insert the page number and page count into the page header - OpenOffice.org Calc
- This screencast demonstrates how to add page numbers and the page count to the page header of a spreadsheet.
- In this example we are viewing the document in the print or "Page Preview" mode to easily demonstrate what is happening.
- You can access the page preview mode by clicking on this icon here.
- Now to start, once you are in the page preview mode, click here on the "Format Page" button.
- The page style window should appear. Look for the Header tab, and if it is not yet open, click on it once.
- Afterwards, click here on "Edit."
- The header window should open. You should see three main fields, representing the left, center and right area of the header respectively.
- Now, pick the area where you want the page numbers to appear and click on it once.
- Next, you have the option to enter some text to accompany the page number. In this example we are typing in "Page"
- Now, to add the page number, look for the "Page" icon here and click on it once.
- Great! The page number has appeared.
- Next, we are typing in the word "of" and then we shall add the page count.
- To add the page count of the spreadsheet, just click here on the "Pages" icon.
- Great! The page count has appeared.
- Once done, just click on "OK."
- Afterwards, click on "OK" as well in the page style window.
- Good. Now, if we zoom in to take a closer look...
- You should see the page number and the page count appear on the header. Congratulations!
