How-To: Freeze panes - OpenOffice.org Calc
- It is possible to "freeze panes" or freeze both a column and a row at the same time, so that they are always in the visible area of the spreadsheet.
- To do this, click on the cell that is below the row and to the right of the column that you want to freeze.
- Good this cell has been selected.
- Next, click on the "Window"option here.
- Then, on the menu that opens click on "Freeze"
- Great! We have frozen Row 1 and Column A.
- Now if we move the selection box beyond the edge of the visible area...
- You should see that both row 1 and column A remain in their positions.
- While all the rest have moved.
- Great! You have learned how to freeze panes.
