How-To: Freeze panes - OpenOffice.org Calc
  1. It is possible to "freeze panes" or freeze both a column and a row at the same time, so that they are always in the visible area of the spreadsheet.
  2. To do this, click on the cell that is below the row and to the right of the column that you want to freeze.
  3. Good this cell has been selected.
  4. Next, click on the "Window"option here.
  5. Then, on the menu that opens click on "Freeze"
  6. Great! We have frozen Row 1 and Column A.
  7. Now if we move the selection box beyond the edge of the visible area...
  8. You should see that both row 1 and column A remain in their positions.
  9. While all the rest have moved.
  10. Great! You have learned how to freeze panes.
