How-To: Insert new cells using the context menu - OpenOffice.org Calc
  1. It is possible to insert cells using the context menu.
  2. To do this first you must choose a location for the new cells by selecting some existing ones.
  3. Please, keep in mind that the number of the cells you select will always be equal to the number of cells that will be inserted.
  4. Now, select cells by first clicking and holding the left mouse button on one of them.
  5. Then, while holding the button, move your mouse towards the other cells you want selected.
  6. Once you are done selecting release the left mouse button. Then, right click on the selected cells.
  7. The context menu should appear. Just, click on "Insert Cells..."
  8. The insert cells window should open. This window lets you choose where the selected cells will move to accomodate the new cells that will be inserted.
  9. In this example we want the selected cells to shift to the right. Click on the option "Shift cells right"
  10. Afterwards just click on OK.
  11. Great! As you can see, two new cells have been inserted.
  12. Also note that the selected cells have been shifted to its right.
  13. Congratulations! You have learned how to insert cells using the context menu.
